Adrienne Navarro graduated from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo (1995) with a B.S. in Biological Sciences and a minor in Psychology. She went on to obtain her M.S. (1998) in Animal Behavior from Bucknell University. Her thesis work focused on the human-companion animal bond and how personality relates to attachment. After working for a short time as an Information Specialist at the Humane Society of the United States, Adrienne then worked as an applied animal behaviorist at the National Institutes of Health, Department of Veterinary Resources, where she worked for the Behavior and Environmental Enrichment Program.

Adrienne moved to Carson City, Nevada in 2002 and started her business, “Animal Behavior Consulting.” She works with behavior problems in dogs and cats. Her basic procedure involves a consultation in the pet owner’s home where she will talk with the client, assess the problem, provide a diagnosis, and review with the client initial recommendations for the behavior problem. Following the consultation, Adrienne develops a treatment plan for the behavior problem and sends it to the client. In addition, each consultation includes three months of follow up time by phone and/or e-mail.

Adrienne conducts her animal behavior business on a part-time basis, while her full-time job involves staying home, raising her two sons.
